Final Day in Paris- Addition
Our final day in Paris seemed to
come way to fast as we prepared to go to the Louvre. The Louvre being one of the
world’s largest museums is also among the most popular. So we were ready to
leave the hotel around 8:30 determined to beat the crowds. Not long after
hopping on the Metro we arrived at the museum, originally build in 1792 as a
fortress to house the late King Phillip II. Our primary focus obviously being
the Ancient Greece areas featured beautiful sculptures and pottery. Many of the pieces recounted rich history of
ancient Greece, illustrating times of triumph, war, and tribute. A few of the
favorite highlights was seeing the famous Mona Lisa which came with the
struggle of getting through the constant crowd attempting to view it, I also was intrigued by the
many illustrations of the powerful greek gods. After we finished exploring the museum
it was one of my favorite times of the day lunch time. We headed to the café
for pasta and sandwiches before we traveling over to the Luxembourg Gardens. When we
arrived at the garden the group consciences was to take a minute to enjoy the sun
and relax off our feet for a while. After a brief nap the group headed over to Sorbonne
a very rich historical landmark recognized as the birth of the modern Olympics.
The whole group was exhausted after a day of walking so we headed back to the hotel to
prepare our bags to leave for Lausanne Switzerland in the morning. It was another great day for the group in Paris cant wait to see what Lausanne has in store for us!
